Development companies and other applicants for permits to alter floodplains face an ever-changing and complex set of requirements before receiving requested floodplain permits or map-change authorizations from regulatory agencies. Wallace Wilson’s 24 years of experience as the manager of the State of Michigan’s floodplain program affords him the knowledge of what is needed to meet these various requirements and the ability to achieve a meaningful communication interchange with the various governmental officials administering the programs, whether it is the FEMA contractor reviewing floodplain map change requests, the state floodplain manager or the local jurisdiction's building official.
W. A. Wilson Consulting Services can provide a full range of floodplain services to the developer, including floodplain studies to determine existing and proposed condition floodplain elevations, the impacts of various construction proposals upon the floodplain and adjacent properties, completion and submittal of state floodplain permit applications, requests for Letters of Map Revision or Amendment from FEMA and completion and submittal of Elevation Certificates for completed construction.
Occasionally property owners believe their properties or structures have been inadvertently included within the floodplain on FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps. W. A.
